A San Francisco skincare brand

Ewa always had two creams on her shelf. The one that worked. And the one she actually wanted to reach for.

One felt like a prescription. Effective, probably — but clinical, textureless, something you used because you were supposed to. The other felt like a small luxury: beautiful to touch, pleasant to wear, a ritual rather than a task. And yet it made promises the label couldn't quite keep.

The gap between them — between something that genuinely works and something you genuinely want to use every day — is what Ambernay was built to close.

Skincare you return to.
Not because you should. Because you want to.
The founding idea

Ewa is not a cosmetic formulator. She has never pretended to be.

She is someone who spent years making decisions in complex technology projects: defining standards before choosing tools, rejecting work that met most of the criteria but not all of them, understanding that the hardest part of any process is maintaining discipline once momentum builds.

She approached skincare exactly the same way. She wrote the standard first — what a formula must do, what it must feel like, what it must never contain. She found a specialist skincare manufacturer in Korea with the expertise and the process to meet it. And she rejected formulas — repeatedly, across multiple iterations — until one satisfied every condition at once.

Not most of them. All of them.

Every Ambernay product begins with a written brief that defines the cosmetic objective before any ingredient is selected. Ingredients are evaluated on biological function, evidence quality, tolerance profile, and formula compatibility — not on whether they're currently prominent in skincare marketing.

Every finished formula undergoes safety assessment by an independent qualified assessor. Every claim has a named source: confirmed on this formula, based on ingredient literature, or user assessment. No mixing of categories. No claim we can't account for.

The Ambernay Standard — a five-point public standard that every product must pass — is the same standard Ewa applied to the first formula. It has not been relaxed to accommodate a launch timeline.

Ambernay is not a dermatologist brand. It is not a laboratory. It does not position the founder as a scientific authority — the authority in each formula comes from the evidence, the process, and the testing. Not from a credential or a white coat.

It is not for everyone. Ambernay is a considered choice for someone who has stopped being impressed by ingredient lists and started asking what the formula actually does — and whether the experience of using it is worth repeating, every morning and every evening, for years.
